The Doubletree Beach Resort is a proud supporter of the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, which is located about 1/2 mile north of our resort. The Seabird Sanctuary is considered to be one of the top avian rehabilitation centers in the world. Admission to the Sanctuary has always been free of charge. Private donations are the Sanctuary’s only means of support and for a small donation you can become a Member of the Sanctuary or join our Adopt-A-Bird program. Visitors are encouraged to tour the open-air facility and beachfront. Groups of ten or more can book tours in advance, and such tours are also free of charge! Public tours are Wednesdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The facility is open 365 days a year from 9:00 a.m. until sunset. The Sanctuary is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
